There are so many cool and different places to stay in the USA and the few I'm going to include are definitely on my bucket list. All of the places are speaking to my music loving, want-to-be stylish self and have unique and/or boutique style!! The first is a chain of hotels with different themes for each of their lodgings. The company is called Joie De Vivre and each hotel has it's own name, such as The Troubador in New Orleans and Hotel Lincoln in Chicago and Hotel Kubuki in Japantown, San Francisco. One of their hotels that is at the top of my list is the Hotel del Sol in San Francisco. They are all just so stylish:) This hotel is not cheap, but not much is in San Fran. The hotel sits in the Marina District, a happening neighborhood near the bay. You get to stay in a colorful, rethought 1950s motor lodge made with families (including fur families) in mind. There are 7 more Joie de Vivre hotels in San Francisco and 11 more altogether, each with its own beckoning power. Maybe it's extremely well done advertising, but the Joie de Vivre hotels have been peaking my curiosity for awhile now.

Another new take on where to stay is the 21C hotels, or should I say "Museum Hotels". The founders began in Louisville with a desire to revitalize downtown and open a space for contemporary art that is, well, contemporary. The art part of each hotel is open for viewing 365 days a year, exhibits rotate and it is free! The rooms are unique, as always when its boutique, and each hotel comes equipped with a yummy restaurant to tempt the tastebuds. A few of the 7 (almost 8) museum hotels also offer a spa and each one offers some fun with penguin statues that move around each day for different aspect selfies or happy hunting. The 21C Museum Hotels are mostly midwest, mid-sized, modern ways to stay that are always taking top awards.

I love hotels that are distinct and extraordinary and, simply, stand out from the crowd. When I am traveling with the kids we need a pool and free breakfast but when I am not in the family way, these hotels appeal to my "adulting" self. Let us know when you are traveling and Stowaway Travels can help you find an adult hotel with a special ambiance!
